Constitutions of Clarendon Constitutions of Clarendon, 克拉伦登宪章 Constitutions of Clarendon 〈英〉克拉伦登宪章 1164年,由在克拉伦登召开的一次大谘议会会议中提出,经英王亨利二世批准而颁布的旨在限制教会特权和宗教法庭权力的法律。以贝克特〔Becket〕为首的主教们郑重承诺遵守这一法律。该法律的主要内容是:教士如被指控有罪,应由世俗法院〔civil courts〕审理;国王的法官审理教职人员与非教职人员〔layman〕之间有关土地的纠纷;大主教只能向国王提出申诉;教职人员应服从国王的召唤等。这一法律规定了调整国王与教会关系的原则。
