jeofail 〈法〉(诉答中的)错误；失误；对诉答中错误的承认在15世纪以前的口头诉答中，诉答人发现自己的口头陈述有错误时，通过承认「我失误」〔j’ay faille〕，即有权对此错误作修正。自1413年起制定法对此做法作了规定，以避免对方当事人在诉讼经过一定阶段之后仍提出形式上的异议。这些制定法被称为《诉答错误承认与修正法》〔Statutes of Amendments and Jeofail〕。
