Bow Street Runners 〈英〉鲍街侦探 亨利·菲尔丁〔Henry Fielding〕被任命为伦敦鲍街警官以后,于1750年组建了一支领薪的小型侦探队伍,该支队伍被称为「菲尔丁先生的人」。该支队伍在1785年以「鲍街侦探」着称,他们是现代英国刑事调查部〔CID〕和警察特别分队的先驱。其常被选派执行机密任务。他们负责守卫银行、保卫皇宫,在执行任务的过程中还可远赴国外。鲍街侦探直到1839年新伦敦警察局〔New Metropolitan Police〕建立10年后才不再被视为一个警察机构。
