truce of God 上帝休战 中世纪时由教会倡导的,在某一特定时间要求交战双方停止战争的制度。开始仅限于星期天,后来扩展到自星期三晚上至星期一早晨。这样将有3/4的时间是禁止战争的。但由于它只依靠教会监督,实际并不完全奏效。12世纪君主国家产生后,教会治安逐渐被君主治安代替。
