interplea. A pleading by which a stakeholder places the disputed property into the court’s registry; the plea made by an interpleader. See INTERPLEADER.
interplea n. (1)要求进行确定竞合权利诉讼的答辩 指对财产否认有任何权利的被告要求法院就对该财产主张同一权利的二人或数人间确定权利究应谁属的答辩。 (→interpleader) (2)第三人对扣押物主张权利的诉讼 制定法上规定的一种诉讼，作为返还原物诉讼〔action of replevin〕的替代程序，指第三人加入到某一扣押诉讼〔action of attachment〕中来，阐明其对该被扣押财产享有所有权〔title〕，并寻求恢复占有。
