abator ([schwa]-bay-t[schwa]r or -tor).

1. A person who eliminates a nuisance. See ABATEMENT(1). [Cases: Nuisance 20, 74.]

2. Hist. A person who tortiously intrudes on an heir’s freehold before the heir takes possession. See ABATEMENT(5).
