ad fidem (ad fI-d[schwa]m), adv. [Law Latin] In allegiance; under allegiance; owing allegiance. • This term appeared in a variety of phrases, including ad fidem regis (“under the king’s allegiance”) and natus ad fidem regis (“born in allegiance to the king”).
