quae functionem recipiunt (kwee fungk-shee-oh-n[schwa]m ri-sip-ee-[schwa]nt). [Law Latin] Hist. Things whose value depends on the class of things to which they belong (e.g., money, corn, etc.). • The phrase appeared in reference to fungibles — that is, things that could be generically estimated by quantity or weight.
