Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. A 1968 model statute that created protocols that govern the giving and receiving of anatomical gifts. • Under the Act, a person may donate all or part of one’s own body for purposes of transplantation, therapy, research, or education. The original Act has been adopted in some form in all 50 states. It was revised in 1987, and the revised version has been adopted in some form in at least 22 states. — Abbr. UAGA.
