Jason clause. Maritime law. A bill-of-lading clause requiring contribution in general average even when the peril that justified the sacrifice was the result of the carrier’s negligence, for which the carrier is otherwise exempt from liability by statute. • The clause is named after the Supreme Court case that upheld its enforceability, The Jason, 225 U.S. 32, 32 S.Ct. 560 (1912).
