2. To decode (security information); esp., to decipher or discover (a code, a password, etc. needed to break into a computer, network, server, or database). Cf. HACK.
3. To bypass (an encryption or a security device, esp. one designed to prevent unauthorized access, as in a cable television box, or copying, as in a DVD player).
4. To hack (a computer, network, server, or database) with the intention of causing damage or disruption.
