cheating. The fraudulent obtaining of another’s property by means of a false symbol or token, or by other illegal practices.

cheating by false pretenses. The intentional obtaining of both the possession and ownership of money, goods, wares, or merchandise by means of misrepresentations, with the intent to defraud.
