armiger (ahr-m[schwa]-j[schwa]r), n. [Latin fr. arma “arms” + gerere “to bear”] Hist.

1. One who bears arms; an armor-bearer; an esquire.

2. A servant who carried the armor of a knight.

3. A tenant by scutage; a valet.
