assizer, n. Hist.

1. A member of a grand assize. See grand assize under ASSIZE(5).

2. Scots law. A juror.

3. One having custody of the standards of weight and measure; esp., one who fixes the assize of bread, ale, and other items of general consumption. — Also spelled assizor; assiser; assisor.
