bonae fidei possessor (boh-nee fI-dee-I p[schwa]-zes-[schwa]r). [Latin] Roman law. A good-faith possessor of property owned by another. • Unless the owner sued to recover the property, the possessor became the rightful owner after a specified time elapsed, unless the property had been stolen or taken by force.
