bonitarian (bahn-[schwa]-tair-ee-in), adj. Roman law.

1. Equitable or beneficial. — Also termed bonitary. Cf. QUIRITARIAN.

2. Hist. Pertaining to or designating a property interest governed by praetorian edict rather than civil law. See edictum praetoris under EDICTUM.
