Channel Islands
〈英〉海峡群岛 指包括奥尔德尼岛〔Alderney〕、根西岛〔Guernsey〕等岛屿在内的群岛，是不列颠群岛的一部分。征服者威廉〔William〕(即威廉一世)将其并入英格兰王国，但并不是联合王国或其殖民地的一部分。该群岛是诺曼底公爵领地中唯一由英王作为公爵的继承人仍然占有的部分。海峡群岛实行的是在诺曼底时代的法律基础上发展起来的特殊法律。联合王国议会立法可以扩至海峡群岛，但必须通过明示或默示的词句使之适用于该群岛中的一个岛屿或全部岛屿。在这种情况下，实际的作法是将其交给岛屿皇家法院〔Royal Court of the Island〕予以登记。枢密院君令〔Order in Council〕也可以使立法在群岛生效。
