decedent

decedent (di-see-d[schwa]nt), n. A dead person, esp. one who has died recently. • This term is little used outside law. It typically appears in legal proceedings or administrative inquiries.

nonresident decedent. A decedent who was domiciled outside the jurisdiction in question (such as probate jurisdiction) at the time of death.
