diverse, adj.

1. Of or relating to different types (the attorney handles diverse cases ranging from probate matters to criminal law).

2. (Of a person or entity) having a different citizenship from the party or parties on the other side of the lawsuit (the parties are diverse because the plaintiffs are citizens of Illinois and the defendant is a New York citizen). 3. (Of a group of people) including people of different races, sexes, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds (the school has a diverse student body).
