existimatio

existimatio (eg-zis-t[schwa]-may-shee-oh), n. [Latin] Roman law.

1. The civil reputation belonging to a Roman citizen of unimpeached dignity or character; the highest standing of a Roman citizen.

2. The decision or award of an arbiter. Pl. existimationes (eg-zis-t[schwa]-may-shee-oh-neez).
