fabricare (fab-r[schwa]-kair-ee), vb. [Law Latin “to make”] Hist.

1. To make a coin lawfully or unlawfully.

2. To forge, esp. a bill of lading. • The term sometimes appeared in indictments: fabricavit et contrafecit (“[he] forged and counterfeited”).
