1. To make something false; to counterfeit or forge (the chiropractor falsified his records to help the plaintiff). — Also termed (archaically) false. See COUNTERFEIT; FORGERY.

2. Rare. To prove something to be false or erroneous (their goal in the appeal was to falsify the jury’s verdict). — falsification, n.
