institor

institor (in-sti-tor or -t[schwa]r), n. [Latin] Roman law. A person, often but not always a son or slave, to whom the transaction of any particular business is committed; esp., a shopkeeper or other person in charge of a commercial business. See actio institoria under ACTIO.
