quasi in rem action

准对物诉讼 指虽然有确定的当事人，但其直接目的是为获得或处理某一财产或对财产的某种权益的诉讼，其判决解决的是某一特定财产的法律地位、所有权、法律责任等方面的问题，且只在诉讼双方当事人之间有效。在准对物诉讼中，原告利用法院对被告财产具有管辖权提起诉讼，以期实现其对被告提出的请求。所以，准对物诉讼通常是在法院不能对被告行使管辖权(比如，由于被告不在法院辖区内居住)但可以对被告的财产行使管辖权的情况下提起的。
