recusable (ri-kyoo-z[schwa]-b[schwa]l), adj.

1. (Of an obligation) arising from a party’s voluntary act and that can be avoided. Cf. IRRECUSABLE.

2. (Of a judge) capable of being disqualified from sitting on a case. [Cases: Judges 39–56. C.J.S. Judges §§ 62, 98–160.]

3. (Of a fact) providing a basis for disqualifying a judge from sitting on a case.
