Resolution Trust Corporation. A federal agency established to act as a receiver for insolvent federal savings-and-loan associations and to transfer or liquidate those associations’ assets. • The agency was created when the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation was abolished in 1989. — Abbr.
