soc (sohkorsok), n. [Law Latin] Hist.

1. A liberty of exercising private jurisdiction; specif., the privilege granted to a seigniory of holding a tenant’s court.

2. The territory subject to such private jurisdiction. — Also spelled soke; soca; sac.
