subjective

subjective, adj.

1. Based on an individual’s perceptions, feelings, or intentions, as opposed to externally verifiable phenomena (the subjective theory of contract — that the parties must have an actual meeting of the minds — is not favored by most courts).

2. Personal; individual (subjective judgments about popular music). Cf. OBJECTIVE.
