syndicus

syndicus (sin-di-k[schwa]s), n. [Latin “advocate” fr. Greek syn- “with” + dike “lawsuit”] Roman law. One chosen (by a corporate body such as a municipality, college, etc.) to represent it at law. See SYNDIC.
