abeyance n. (不动产的)归属未定 指对于一项不动产，虽然法律假定有权接受该财产的人潜在地存在，并准备在其出现时即将该财产授予他，但该人尚未出现，从而使该不动产处于所有权归属未定的状态。这种情况下，该不动产被称为「处于云雾之中」〔in the clouds〕。
