desertion of the diet 〈苏格兰〉放弃诉讼 指在刑事诉讼中，放弃以特定起诉书〔particular libel〕提起的诉讼。它有两种形式：一种是暂时的放弃〔pro loco et tempore〕，在这种情况下，控告方可以重新起诉；另一种是绝对的放弃〔simpliciter〕，在这种情况下，控告方不得再次起诉。
