doing business 〈美〉经营；营业；从事商业活动 公司在某一州内从事商业活动是本州对之征税或行使民事管辖权、送达法律文书的依据。这里的「商业活动」应是经常性的实质商业交往，该活动应足以保证本州对其征税管理或诉讼文书的送达，区别于临时、偶然的交易或单独的某个商业行为。
