elisor n. (指定的)临时代理行政司法人员 此词原意是指「挑选者」。指执行「召集陪审团令状」〔writ of venire〕负责挑选陪审员的行政司法官，或组织验尸陪审团〔coroner’s jury〕时，验尸官因故——如回避、失职或其他原因——不能执行职务时，法院为其指定的临时代理人。其职责原只是挑选合适的陪审员，递交陪审团成员名单〔jury array〕。其后，则于行政司法官或验尸官因故不能执行任何令状时，被指定之临时代理人员，均被用此名称称呼，遂泛指一切行政司法人员的临时代理人。
