quartering n. (1)(英格兰古法)肢解刑;裂肢刑 古代英国对重叛逆罪〔high treason〕制定的一种酷刑。对罪犯施行此项惩罚的全过程如下:将定罪的犯人拖至行刑处,用绳子勒套颈部吊起但不使其死;在罪犯仍活着时剖腹掏肠或取出内脏,将内脏在其眼前焚烧。然后将罪犯头砍下,躯体分为4块。该刑于1870年废止。 (2)供应膳宿;驻营 美国宪法第三条修正案保证公民享有不得被强迫为士兵驻扎提供民房的权利。 (3)(纹章学)盾的四等分;(盾上的)多种纹章
