recognition n. (1)确认；认可；承认 一般指确认他人以本人名义作出的行为已得到本人的授权。国际法上的承认是指一国明示或默示地对另一国的行为所作的具有法律意义的反应。承认是具有法律后果的政治和行政行为，主要有对新国家、政府、领土变更、交战状态以及暴动状态的承认。 (2)〈苏格兰〉收回土地 在苏格兰古法中，它类似于意外费用〔casualty〕。当附庸〔vassal〕无领主之同意而出让土地时，该土地要被领主收回，作为对其蔑视权威的惩罚。(→casualty)
