vetera statuta (vet-[schwa]-r[schwa] sta-t[y]oo-t[schwa]), n. pl.[Law Latin “ancient statutes”] The statutes from Magna Carta (1215) to the end of Edward II’s reign (1327). — Also termed antiqua statuta (an-tI-kw[schwa]st[schwa]-t[y]oo-t[schwa]). Cf. NOVA STATUTA.
