Corpus Juris Secundum/C.J.S. 〈美〉《美国法大全续编》韦氏出版公司〔West Publishing Company〕于1936年开始陆续出版。截止1993年全面修订后,共出版编号101卷,实际册数161册,以及多种增补本。在法律文献检索中被称作「法律的二次文献」〔Secondary Sources of Law〕。它的前一版为「Corpus Juris」,出版于1911年至1936年。《美国法大全续编》按照法律主题的字母顺序进行编排,共分为435个主题,每一个主题正文按逻辑顺序,如综述、主题词的用法、定义以及其他相关法理分析加以概述,正文一般较为简短。脚注中包含大量判例(主要只提供判例名称与出处供进一步检索),以及一些联邦或某些州的制定法或习惯以支持正文的阐述。《美国法大全续编》力求在其众多的法律主题讨论中,反映自1658年至今的全部已报道出版的判例法。这种百科大全的综合性质试图涵盖全美法院的判例,以满足不同领域读者的广泛需求。同时,根据韦氏出版公司「相互关联」出版体系的一部分,如果《美国法大全续编》中所讨论的主题为韦氏出版公司的摘要出版物的主题分类号所涵盖,则《美国法大全续编》中包含的「钥匙号」可用来查找韦氏公司的其他出版物的同一主题下更多的判例。此外,通过替换卷和每年出版的插袋式增补本来及时更新,插袋式增补本主要包含自原始卷出版以来重写的正文和一些判例的援引部分,如果正文的重要部分需要重写,或者插袋式增补本数量广泛增加,显得很庞大,则须出版新的卷对原始卷予以替换。另外,《美国法大全续编》还提供多卷本的「总索引」〔General Index〕便于参照、检索。而每卷卷首除了缩略语表,还有全部法律主题(词)列表。
