A number of shares of stock or the value of a bond that is less than a round lot.
lottery n. 抽彩给奖法;抽签法;彩票 一种有对价的,利用抽签、机遇、幸运或卖彩票而不用技能分发奖金的活动。一般包括抽彩、打彩、博彩、兑奖售物等以及各种形式的赌博。在英国,彩票的发行活动受法律的严格规定,一般为盈利而发行的彩票是非法的,但在一定限度允许以彩票作为一种为慈善目的筹措奖金的方法。在美国,许多州以制定法对州办的抽彩活动作了规定。通过邮件或州际间贸易的其他手段为彩票作广告并发行,为联邦法律所禁止。但此等联邦法不适用于州所举办的抽彩活动。
