intentio

intentio (in-ten-shee-oh), n. [Latin]

1. Roman law. The part of a formula in which the plaintiff’s claim against the defendant is stated. See FORMULA(1).

2. Hist. A count or declaration in a real action. • Intentio was an earlier name for narratio. See NARRATIO. Pl. intentiones (in-ten-shee-oh-neez).
