misuse

misuse, n.

1. Products liability. A defense alleging that the plaintiff used the product in an improper, unintended, or unforeseeable manner. [Cases: Products Liability 27. C.J.S. Products Liability §§ 45–47.]

2. Patents. The use of a patent either to improperly extend the granted monopoly to nonpatented goods or to violate antitrust laws. [Cases: Patents 283(1). C.J.S. Patents §§ 436–439.]
