Work that involves frequent lifting and carrying of large items.

• Under the Social Security Administration regulations for describing a worker’s physical limitations, heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. 20 CFR § 404.
