A lawyer who specializes in real-estate transac-tions. • In England, a conveyancer is a solicitor or licensed conveyancer who examines title to real estate, prepares deeds and mortgages, and performs other functions relating to the transfer of real property.

conveyancer n. (1)土地转让中介人 指从事准备契据、抵押，查验不动产产权证书以及与不动产转让有关的其他事务的人。 (2)〈英〉不动产转让律师 指专于不动产转让业务的律师，其业务有起草契据、办理不动产抵押、调查不动产产权状况以及其他与不动产转让相关的事务。该术语源自英格兰，原指律师公会〔Inns of Courts〕成员在尚未取得律师资格时可先行领取执照，从事不动产转让业务。该项特权因1949年《事务律师、公证人法》〔Solicitors, Public Notaries, etc., Act〕而被取消。在现代英国，该词指事务律师或持照的不动产转让律师〔licensed conveyancer〕。
