The act of engaging in business activities; specif., the carrying out of a series of similar acts for the purpose of realizing a pecuniary benefit, or otherwise accomplishing a goal, or doing a single act with the intention of starting a series of such acts; esp., a nonresident’s participation in sufficient business activities in a foreign state to allow the state’s courts to exercise personal jurisdiction over the nonresident.
