acquittance n. 债务(或义务)免除证书 指当事人可据以免除给付金钱或履行义务的书面清偿证书。该术语不完全等同于收据〔receipt〕，但却包含后者。收据是免除证书的一种，清偿证书〔discharge〕则是另一种。
