baronet n. 〈英〉准男爵 英国的一种世袭爵位，1611年詹姆斯一世为敛财通过特许状授予了200名准男爵，受封者以交纳一定数量的金钱为条件。该爵位不是贵族爵位的一种，也不属骑士等级，地位处于二者之间，后来准男爵内部亦有许多等级。获此爵位需先向枢密院提出申请，并经听证。关于此爵位还有专门的档案管理。
