county corporate 〈英〉市镇法人 英格兰的某些市、镇，受英王恩准，使其具有独立郡的特权地位，仅受自己的地方长官及其他行政官员的管辖，而不隶属于其他任何郡。具有市镇法人资格的市有：伦敦〔London〕、切斯特〔Chester〕、布鲁斯托〔Bristol〕、考文垂〔Coventry〕、约克〔York〕等12个城市。具有镇法人资格的有：卡那封〔Caernarvon〕、普尔〔Poole〕等8个镇。但1972年的《地方政府法》〔Local Government Act〕变革了该类地方政府结构。 (→county; county boroughs; local government)
