curate n. 〈英〉(教会法)牧师助理 教堂的最低级牧师，协助堂区长〔rector〕或堂区长代理〔vicar〕行使牧师职责〔cure of souls〕，或在其空缺时代行其职。该职位由本区的主教任免，可以是世俗的、受圣俸的或终身的。终身牧师助理由领受圣俸的俗界堂区长〔lay rector or impropriator〕提名，在此情况下亦可称作堂区长代理〔vicar〕。
