Doctor’s Commons 〈英〉博士院 旧时教会法院和海事法院及在这些法院执业的罗马法和教会法律师公会〔College of Advocates〕所在的地方,位于圣保罗教堂附近。1768年,根据一项特许状,成立了「在教会法院和海事法院执业的法律博士协会」〔College of Doctors of Laws exercent in the Ecclesiastical and Admiralty Courts〕,1782年该协会买下了该处地产。加入该协会的条件是:1取得牛津大学或剑桥大学的罗马法〔civil law〕博士学位;2根据坎特伯雷大主教的谕令〔rescript〕已被接收为律师,并已出席法庭一年。1858年,该协会律师在教会法院和海事法院执业的专属权利被废除,协会也随之解散。
