Eighth Amendment
Eighth Amendment 〈美〉美国宪法第八条修正案 该修正案于1791年作为《权利法案》〔Bill of Rights〕的组成部分获通过。它规定不得科处过多的保释金、过重的罚金和处以残酷而异常的刑罚，这一规定为联邦刑事司法处刑的严厉性提供了唯一的实体上的限制。1962年该规定首次被扩展适用于州。
