employee n. 僱员;雇工;受雇者 指根据任何僱佣合同,为僱主工作并领取工资或报酬的人。僱佣合同可以是明示的或默示的,书面的或口头的。受僱人在其工作中,不仅为完成一定的任务而工作,同时应受其僱主的管理与指导,遵循其要求的方法与细节,因而不能混同于独立合同人、高级职员、正副负责人和代理人等。在公司法中,僱员包括高级职员,但不包括董事,除非后者承担了一定的义务。该词也可拼作employe。其实法语中的employ在逻辑上更宜于充当僱员的通用名称,但法语中用于指女性的employe却更广为人接受,以致僱员的标准英文写法为employee;不过《华尔街日报》〔The Wall Street Journal〕和其他一些出版物仍坚持使用employe  。(→servant)
